Welcome to Southern Equine Performance, LLC

Riding Attire

Students agree to come dressed to ride in proper riding attire consisting of:

1. Long pants

2. Riding boots or closed toed shoes

3. Fitted/semi-fitted shirt: Students will not be permitted to ride in loose or billowing clothes or dangling jewelry as it can pose a safety risk should loose items get caught/snagged on saddle or horse.

4. Appropriate accoutrements for the weather or season

5. Hat or helmet and sunglasses are strongly recommended, but not required.

Cancellation Policy

We only have availability for a certain number of students and your scheduled time slot is valuable. As a courtesy to other riders and the instructor, ALL lessons are subject to a 24-hour cancellation policy. The cancellation policy varies slightly for Individual Lessons and Lesson Memberships. Contact us to find out more.

Barn Rules

  • Interactions between students should be positive and supportive.
  • Please do not climb, sit, or stand on any fences, gates, or arena sides.
  • NO SMOKING
  • No umbrellas, screaming, running, balls or toys please. This could spook the horses.
  • No dogs or pets.
  • Do not feed anything to the horses or other animals on the property without permission from the riding instructor. Do not enter any pens without permission.
  • NEVER cross in front of the horse while it is tied up.
  • After you enter any gate, close and latch it behind you.
  • Do not let tack drag in the dirt or leave tack on the ground. Please return helmets, tack/supplies to their designated place when you are finished using them.
  • Riding is permitted in the arena ONLY, NOT on the grass.
  • Clients must wear long pants and boots. The ideal boot has a sole that is smooth or lightly textured and a heel to avoid being caught in the stirrup in the event of a fall. ASTM/SEI helmets are strongly recommended. If helmets are not worn, a helmet release must be signed.
  • Client understands that lessons are scheduled back-to-back, and it is extremely important the client arrives on time to their scheduled lesson. Client further understands that even if they are late, the time for ending the lesson will remain as scheduled.

Guests

Guests are welcome to watch riders during their lesson. For the safety of you and the rider, please abide by the following:

  • Guests MUST REMAIN in the viewing area (picnic tables) or in the car and MAY NOT wander around the farm or barn.
  • Please do not pet or feed horses or other animals on the property without permission.
  • Please do not climb, sit, or stand on any fences, gates, or arena sides.
  • If other children are present, please prevent them from running around the viewing area or arena as this may spook the horses.
  • Interrupting a lesson and/or causing the rider a distraction could result in an accident. Please refrain from doing so.
